The Wahiba Sands or the Sharqiya Sands is a desert region. Rolling sand dunes, varying from deep red to a rich honey colour sand stretches to as far as the eye can see. The sands covers an area of 180km from north to south and 80 km from east to west. Based on the type of dunes, the region is divided high and low Wahiba.
This region was predominantly occupied by the Wahiba tribes. The desert is henceforth named as Wahiba sands. This area is now occupied by Bedouins, who dwell along the oasis near the desert border.
Famous for its steep dunes which forms an angle of 70 degrees, is ideal place for adventure desert sports. This is the perfect place for desert camps and other desert activities like dune bashing and Desert Safari.
